So I've decided to sit down and create this blog to keep you all posted on my adventures over here in Europe... I've been here for over almost a month and a half now... It's been really great... took some time to get adjusted but I think I'm pretty much settled in now...
I've had the chance to travel to some of the surrounding cities... went to Chamonix my first weekend to visit Mount Blanc which is the tallest mountain in Western Europe bordered by Italy and France… the views from the top were absolutely breathtaking... and the town of Chamonix was so quaint and adorable... I know I'll definitely be making a trip back during ski season (which reminds me that I need to learn how to ski since the last time I went in VT I fell off the ski lift... haha)
Classes have been really interesting and I'm so happy I've made the switch from tax law into international arbitration... The program is great and includes several trips to conferences across Switzerland to hear from practitioners in the field... was able to visit Bern and St. Gallen so far... I really love everything that I'm learning and can't believe I'm so lucky to be living somewhere so beautiful... My place is about a five-minute walk to the lake and my classes at the Villa Barton which is in the middle of this huge park on the water... Although the views of the lake from class can be distracting :)
Also had the chance to head to Florence for a week for Cristina and Jim's wedding... It was the most beautiful wedding ever... had such a blast with everyone... we rented an apartment in city center and it was great seeing friends... http://picasaweb.google.com/angelina.m.petti/CristinaAndJim101208#
Spent my birthday here in Geneva last weekend… at first I wasn't sure about how it would be to spend my birthday so far from home but my new friends made it really special and I had a great weekend... went out for birthday dinner (Thai of course) and then hit up a club in Geneva called Palis Mascott ... Next day despite my hangover and three hours of sleep I was able to catch the train to Monteux... a city that also borders Lake Geneva about an hour away which home of the Chateau de Chillon... I've been to palaces before but it was my first time being in a medieval castle... Was a perfect day just walking around the town and hanging with the locals at a street fair in the old town... http://picasaweb.google.com/angelina.m.petti/BirthdayWeekend#
Miss you all... wish you could be here... Until next time ... Bisous
